What We Collect
When you use the Lifescan app, you answer 42 questions about your life across 6 dimensions (Body, Money, Presence, People, Love, Purpose). Some questions ask about sleep habits, exercise frequency, and relationship patterns. Your answers are used to calculate your scores, archetype, and personalized insights.
How We Use Your Data
- Assessment scoring: Your answers are processed on your device to generate your scores, archetype, and blind spot analysis.
- Session storage: When you complete the assessment, your answers, calculated scores, archetype, and blind spot are sent to our database (hosted on Supabase) to create a session record. This happens automatically for all users.
- Premium AI reports: If you purchase a premium report and consent to AI analysis, your quiz answers, age, gender, sleep data, and friendship data are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service to generate your personalized report. This data is sent only after you explicitly consent via an in-app prompt. Anthropic does not use data sent via their API to train AI models.
- Gamification data: Your progress (challenge status, completed tasks, badges, streak count, habit logs) is stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device.
- Website analytics: We use Vercel Analytics on this website (no cookies, no personal data tracking). We do not track individual users.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your assessment results with third parties, except Anthropic for AI report generation with your explicit consent.
- We do not use tracking cookies.
- We do not collect your name or email unless you voluntarily provide them.
- We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data Storage
On your device: Assessment data, gamification progress, and app preferences are stored locally using standard iOS app storage (AsyncStorage). This data is protected by your device's passcode and iOS data protection.
On our servers: When you complete the assessment, a session record (your answers, scores, archetype, and blind spot) is stored on our database hosted by Supabase. If you make a purchase, your purchase status is also recorded. This data is stored with industry-standard encryption.
Data Retention
Local data persists until you delete it via the app. Server-side session data is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. You can request deletion of server-side data at any time by emailing us.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Our database provider. Stores session records (quiz answers, scores, archetype). Supabase processes data under their privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): When you consent to AI analysis and purchase a premium report, your quiz answers and demographic data are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API to generate your personalized report. Anthropic processes this data under their privacy policy. Anthropic does not use data sent via their API to train AI models.
- Apple App Store: App distribution and in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to app downloads and transactions.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase data per their privacy policy.
- Vercel: Our website is hosted on Vercel. Standard server logs (IP address, page viewed, timestamp) may be collected.
Your Rights
- Delete local data: Use the "Delete My Data" button in the app (LOOK tab > scroll to bottom) to erase all local data including answers, scores, progress, badges, habits, and cached reports. This is instant and irreversible.
- Delete server data: To request deletion of your server-side session data, email care@lifescan.me. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Withdraw AI consent: You can decline AI analysis during the consent prompt. If you previously consented, deleting your data removes any locally cached AI reports.
Children
Lifescan is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
